We buy in person, in Boyaca, before the stones reach the sorting houses.
Most emeralds change hands five or six times between the mine and a US jeweler's bench. Every hand takes a margin and loses a little of the story. We shortened the chain to one step. Our buyers work directly with miners and trusted traders in the Muzo, Coscuez, and Chivor districts, and every stone we sell carries its origin with it, on paper and on the tag.
